All the works in this exhibition illustrate Frieseke's career-long fascination with women in tranquil domestic settings - indoors and outdoors, in boudoir and garden. All were painted in France, many in Giverny, where Frieseke and his family moved in 1906 and where he and other Americans, including Richard Miller, Lawton Parker, Guy Rose and Edmond Greacen, formed the "Giverny Group".
