In Judith Belzer's new series of paintings entitled Between the Leaves nature continues to be her source of inspiration. The paintings depict elusive imaginary places and yet, as the series title suggests, we are urged to look beyond the subject. Belzer's imagery shifts back and forth from the physical world comprised of leaves, branches and vines to a purely abstract place of light, shadow and gesture.
